"All of us do not have equal talent, yet all of us have an equal opportunity to develop that talent"
About HRDL Performance
Obstacles can come from poor technique, poor approach, self-doubt, or from many different sources. I seek to develop athletes: mind, body, and spirit.
Hurdling is unique. It takes courage to hurdle, and to hurdle you must: (1) be willing to move faster than you've moved before, (2) duplicate kinematically correct/proven movements, and (3) get out and stay in front when the gun goes off.
My goal is to take you from where you are and move you forward using the skills and experiences from my many years in track & field and as a high school football, soccer, and track coach. Overcome your obstacles in training.
The focus of this program is on explosive movements, including starts, block starts, vertical jump, and burst of speed. These techniques all depend upon efficient kinesthetic movements. This program is recommended for individuals who have a solid foundation and who want to focus on acceleration and short sprints (i.e. 40yd Dash).
Sprints and Hurdles
High performing athletes or those athletes who have completed an Advanced Sprints Level 1 program are prepared to move on to the speed development in Advanced Sprints Level 2. Athletes 12 years and older will receive evaluation and instruction on increasing top performances.
Club Track and Field
Like many other sports, club or select teams train year-round and compete on a higher level. Team members are committed athletes that compete for their school and wish to develop their talents further.
A brief about the hurdle coach . . .
Jeff Jackson has over 20 years coaching experience working with professional, collegiate, high school, and middle school athletes. His own athletic accomplishments include: 1992 Texas State Champion, 1993 Jr. National Champion, 1993 Jr. Pan-Am Games Champion, NCAA All-American, 1999 IAAF World Championships Semi-Finalist, and 2000 Olympic Semi-Finalist. He is a Baylor University graduate and still holds the 110m Hurdle Record for the Baylor Bears and South West Conference (13.27)
I have a unique situation, having trained under Clyde Hart and Dan Pfaff along side Michael Johnson (400 and 200 World Record) and Donavan Bailey (100 World Record) throughout the 1990's. These two camps in Waco and Austin represented the world's fastest. Some other world bests I've trained with: Bruny Surin (100m), Charles Austin (American Record HJ), Dudley Dorival (110h), Dionne Rose-Henley (100h), Obadele Thompson (100m), Chryste Gaines (100m), Kareem Street-Thompson (Long Jump), Richard Duncan (Long Jump), and many others.
"Training with Jeff was the best thing I've ever done for my athletic career. When I started training, I ran a 4.81 40 yard dash and jumped about a 9'6" broad jump. After working with Jeff, I timed a 4.54 and jumped a 10'3". He knows athletes and he knows exactly what they need to take their game to the next level. He took the approach of helping me specifically instead of a one-size-fits-all approach. Jeff knows how to win, And he'll teach you to win."
